Lively Style Review

Editorial policy

Lively Style Review aims to make style subjects clear, fair and useful. We distinguish what can be described from what is a matter of taste, and we revise our work when the facts or wording need attention.

Accuracy and care

We check names, terms, dates and other factual details against appropriate sources before publication. When a piece discusses clothing construction or dress history, we aim to give enough context to avoid turning a particular example into a universal rule. We do not claim first-hand testing or research that has not taken place.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any paid, gifted, sponsored or partner material will be clearly identified where it appears. Partner placements across the site will also be labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or unclear statement, contact us with the article title, the passage and any relevant supporting detail. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant corrections clear to readers.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. We identify AI-generated illustrations where they appear and do not present them as documentary photographs or evidence of a real garment, person or event.
